Masaledar Biryani:

This is one of the Bakrid recipes that are sure to delight your loved ones.

  • 1/2 kg mutton with bones
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 cups rice (sela)
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup dry plum
  • 2 tablespoons coconut powder
  • 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 cup whole garam masala
  • 1/2 bunch coriander
  • 1/2 bunch mint
  • 5 to 6 green chili
  • 2 onion slices
  • 1 cup brown ghee
  • Salt
To Bake Mutton:
  • Pour some water over mutton and ginger-garlic paste kept in a saucepan.
  • Cook the mutton until it softens.
To Cook Rice:
    Place ghee, garam masala powder, and whole garam masala in a frying pan.
  • Boil the mixture for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add yogurt and rice.
  • Continue boiling the mixture until the rice is cooked.

To Cook Korma:
  • Put onions and half part of the brown ghee in a saucepan.
  • Add some mutton to it.
  • Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, coconut powder, and garam masala in a separate bowl.
  • Add some salt and red pepper to the above mixture and stir well.
  • Add this mixture to the batter (comprising onions and ghee).
  • Cook the mutton mixture over low heat.
  • Once the mixture looks dry, add plums, green pepper, and 2 cups of water.
  • Boil the above mixture.
Before You Serve The Dish:

Take a bowl to spread the 1st layer of korma which is followed by a 2nd layer of rice.
Sprinkle some mint and coriander, and repeat this step depending upon your requirement.
Spread green pepper and sauté onion over the mixture and slowly heat it.

Grilled Kebab:

Grilled kebab are among those Eid-ul-Adha recipes, which is the favorite of many.

  • 1 kg mutton or beef minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon pounded chili
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepri powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kebab cheni
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole spices powder
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seed powder (roasted)
  • 1 small onion (grinded)
  • 6-8 green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 lemon
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • 2 tablespoons raw papaya (skinned and grinded)
  • Combine the ingredients and marinate in a refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Create oval, flat, or any other shape and grill the pieces of meat one after the other.
  • Use brush to oil the pieces of meat and turn them one by one until they become soft.
  • Your grilled kebabs are ready to be served with naan or paratha. Serve some chutney as well for a delightful treat.

Kofta Kebab Dhuwan:

While you celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with your dear ones, eat to your heart’s content and satisfy your taste buds with a delicious dish like Kofta Kebab Dhuwan.

  • 1/2 kg beef (minced)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3-4 bread slices
  • 2 onions
  • 4-5 garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 8-10 red pepper flask
  • 2 tablespoons coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper whole
  • Salt
  • Coal (1 piece)
  Ingredients for the gravy:
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup onion paste
  • 3-4 tablespoons oil
  • Coriander to garnish the recipe
  • Salt to taste

  • To prepare kofta, follow the steps below.
  • Keep minced beef, onions, red pepper, egg, and cumin in a chopper.
  • Add bread slices, garlic, coriander seeds, black pepper, and salt.
  • Chop the mixture.
  • Make small meatballs out of the mixture and apply steam for 15 minutes.
  • Take the meatballs away from the steamer and keep them in a pan.
  • Place a piece of burning coal at the center of the pan.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon oil on it and cover the pan tightly.

 To prepare the gravy, follow the steps below.
  • Pour some oil in a pan and add onion paste and garlic paste into it.
  • Fry the mixture for 3 minutes.
  • Add tomato puree and yogurt.
  • Cook the mixture for 5 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder and other spice powders.
  • Sprinkle some salt as well.
  • As soon as you find the oil floating up on the surface, add the meatballs.
  • Pour 1 and 1/2 cup of boiling water into the pan.
  • Cover the pan and let the mixture simmer for around 10 minutes.
  • Once the recipe is ready, garnish it with chopped coriander before you serve it to your loved ones and guests.
Kofta Kebab Dhuwan



It is one of the popular Eid-ul-Adha recipes that you and your dear ones will simply relish.

  • 250 gms mutton
  • 1 cup wheat (soaked, drained, pounded, and husked)
  • A handful of green gram (moong dal) soaked for 30 minutes
  • A handful of red lentils (masoor dal) soaked for 30 minutes
  • A handful of chana dal (split gram) soaked for 30 minutes
  • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 4 tablespoons ghee (clarified milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt for better taste
  • 2 onions (sliced and fried crisp)

  • Pour 6-8 cups of water in a large saucepan.
  • Put mutton, wheat, and drained gram into the saucepan.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, and red chili powder into the pan as the water starts boiling.
  • Add coriander powder and salt into the above mixture.
  • Cook over medium heat until the mutton becomes soft.
  • Mash the mutton and add the fried onions to the above mixture.
  • Heat the ghee and pour it over the mixture.
  • Sprinkle lemon juice over the mixture.



Badam Phirni (Almond Pudding):

This dessert item will add flavor to your festivities on Bakrid.

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons rice
  • 1/4th cup blanched almonds (sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon green cardamom (crushed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kewra essence
  • Gold or silver foil paper (varak)

  • Let some rice soak in water for some time.  
  • Drain the water and then crush the rice to form a smooth paste.
  • Pour some milk in a non-stick saucepan.
  • Place the saucepan over low heat.
  • Add the rice, cardamom, and sugar until you find the milk turning thick.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat.
  • Add almonds into the rice and milk mixture.
  • Place the mixture in a serving bowl and let it cool for some time.
  • Serve this dish to your loved ones only when you have garnished the recipe with silver or gold paper foil.
